The Soul's Call
of Portugal:

Katharina, why Portugal, of all places? That's a question I can't really answer logically. It's a deep feeling, something I can't describe or grasp with words. A kind of echo from past lives, a resonance that creates an invisible thread calling me again and again. When I follow this call, every cell in my body reacts, and things unfold naturally and easily. Everything falls, piece by piece, exactly where it's meant to be. At the right time, with the right people, places, and experiences.

As your soul's path unfolds, or what the AYA Retreat Valley did for me:

To be seen is to be loved.

And suddenly you arrive at a place in raw nature where the land, the river, the cristals under your feets and all around in the mountains rip you open and leave you fully naked. Suddenly you can’t hide or can’t run any more. But nature alone invite you to climb on top of the highest mountain and get a new perspective, the waterfalls invite you to cleanse and free yourself, the highly energy of the earth and all the cristals whisper: let us carry you. You are never alone.

suddenly you are invited to slow down rapidly if you don’t want to hurt yourself and you recognize the tiniest animals, who let you come so close, sometimes even touch you that is nearly unimaginable. All of them see you - as you really are and you can’t pretend or hold any wall of protection any longer.

And as if this is not allready the most powerful healing alone you are hold by a soultribe who give you the feeling of being safe enough to undress- physical and emotional.

To be seen is to be loved and if you are looking for a sign something to carry you back into the light- Love is the answer.

Lessons from Solo Traveling:

You always have a choice and a free will to decide where you put your attention. Do you want to light up your fear of goodbye and sadness or do you want to light up what you recieved? Do you want to count your blessings you were allowed to recieve from a stranger - who leaves somehow really important imprints in your heart. You can choose to willingly open your heart and trust fully - alltough you know from the beginning you will be vulnerable and being fully seen. Alltough you know you will have to say goodbye again and that the physical visit is limited.

Drastic Decisions:

Portugal is a place where I feel as close to my inner voice as possible. Especially at the AYA Retreat Center, sudden insights are not uncommon. The feeling that I should cut my hair came quite quickly. Hair stores energy. My path to becoming free enough to embark on such a journey was anything but easy. Many drastic, emotional, and above all, courageous decisions paved the way for Portugal. That's why I'm all the more grateful that I was not only able to simply get my hair cut, but also by an experienced shaman. Together we conjured up an entire ritual, which was so intense that I wrote a poem about it:

She cut my hair beneath the sky, and something old began to die. Not just strands upon the floor, but wounds I could not hold no more. The silent grief, the hidden pain, the fear of loss, the need to chain my soul into a smaller shape just so the world would feel less afraid. Each falling lock, a sacred release, a quiet prayer, a call for peace. The woman I had learned to be was slowly setting herself free. The past dissolved with every thread, old versions of myself lay dead. And underneath the heavy weight, my truest soul began to wake. Wild like fire, soft like rain, a heart still whole beneath the pain. No longer trapped in who I’d been, I felt my real life slowly begin. Now when the wind moves through my hair, I feel the spirit lingering there. A whispered truth, both fierce and kind: You had to lose yourself to finally find the soul that waited there the whole damn time. 🐦‍🔥
